So….I’m home sick with the flu and I had this overwhelming desire for new earrings. I think it’s due to my lack of new purchases for myself since I started selling vintage. I decided I would make myself some, since I used to dibble and dabble in jewelry making. I ended up reconstructing/re purposing some jewelry findings that I had from damaged vintage pieces. These little tribal beauties are what I came up with! I think I might make a few more while the spirit moves me. Waddya think?
Okay…something a little lighter than the previous videos. So…I’m an avid thrifter and besides the clothes that you see me reblog from my vintage blog Thelma’s Vanity, which I get in part from thrifting, I also find awesome vintage home goods and other random ephemera that my inner hoarder won’t allow me to leave behind. I’ve been thrifting since I was about 13 with my mother and her fellow professor colleague and I’m in my late 20’s now, so you can imagine the craziness that I’ve accumulated. Thought I would share some of that with you all in addition to the fashion stuff.
Here we have a vintage table lighter by Haegar from the 1960’s. It’s still in working condition and I could fill the fuel container and offer to light someone’s cigar, but I think I’ll just use it as decor instead.
Recent vintage find. I don’t even do men’s shoes because frankly that’s a ball game I’m not prepared to learn about, however, I know a good shoe when I see it and THIS is a great shoe! From Marlborough of England, I need a Marlborough type man to do these beauties some justice! Someone go get Teacake!

Me and Korto Momolu backstage at Africa Underground this past Friday at the National Museum of African Art in DC. I was a MUA for Cote Minou, but I had to get a snapshot with my fellow Liberian! I’m wearing a vintage ball skirt, with a beaded vintage belt, and a lace body suit from Forever 21!
